Historic Challenge Coins in Today’s Climate

Custom challenge coins and honor coins have been in use since the First global conflicts. These coins are used as an instrument of showing valuable service to the brigade. The military started employing the coins to mark the membership of a specific group covertly. Having the coins provides a sense of unity to soldiers of that group and instill a sense of loyalty, commitment, and dedication towards acheiving the certain goals.

Concepts used in the making of custom challenge coins have significantly evolved over time. They have grown to be more intricate and technological and you can obtain any layout or seal made on your challenge coins. Today, such coins are being minted by several other social groups other than the US military. Recreational hobbyists, athletics, clubs, the legal, and the corporate world have also embraced the use of military coins in present day times.

Now, the practices of individualized challenge coins has shifted from the military to other non- military departments. The fire and police agencies use them to adjust on the esprit de corps of its associates. The scouts consume them as rewards after culmination of tasks while clubs and other leisure activity groups use them to add up participation and loyalty to the association. Its major use is to supply the club a sense of belonging to a particular coalition.

Challenge coins are acquired to new members of the group for identity and to offer loyalty towards the agency. All police officers, FBI agents and the Secret Service use challenge coins for identification purposes amongst each other and to the public. They also distribute them to young kids and youth.

Scout troops use challenge coins to show alliance, pride and allegiance for their assembly. They are used to signify the achievements made that are going to create a positive change within the assembly.

The fire force team uses the coins for identity and membership towards the unit. They also reward their body with coins in areas of discipline, achievement and the intensification of team enthusiasm.

Most sporting events today, like the Olympics and World Cups issue custom challenge coins to the conquering teams. They can be made of tin, silver or gold. To the rewarded, they mean hard work, atonement and fulfillment.
