Which were the most important battles in military world history?

I have just come from Gettysburg, where I learned that it was the site of the 18th most significant battle in human history. I wondered which others make up 1 through 17 or 20? The Invasion of Normandy and Hastings were 2 I thought of…

-Marathon, 490 BC and Salamis 480 BC, stopped the Persians from expanding further to the West.
-Gaugamela, 350 BC, resulted in the largest empire up till that time under Alexender the Great;
-Zama, 204 BC, defeat of Carthage established Rome as a world power;
-Alesia, 52 BC, Caesar’s victory assured the end of the Republic and laid the groundwork for the Roman Empire.
-Chalons, 451 AD, a victory by Attila would’ve meant a whole different world in the West, as it was, the Romans defeated him.
-Tours, 732 AD, French victory ended Muslim threat to western Europe, a defeat would meant a whole different world in the West as in Chalons.
-Hastings, 1066, Norman victory brought a unified England onto the world scene.
-Hakata Bay, 1281, the Divine Wind kept Japan free from Chinese invasion.
-Orleans, 1429, Joan of Arc’s victory, one of many.
-Tenochtitlan, 1521, spelled doom for Aztecs and made Spain the richest nation on earth, a dominant force until the Spanish Armada defeated it in 1588.
-Speaking of the Spanish Armada, 1588, ended Spanish dominance and marked English rise to power.
-Trenton, Saratoga, Yorktown…1776-77, take your pick
-Travalgar, 1805, British victory over France established naval power in the world, & left Napoleon chomping at the bits at the English Channel.
-Leipzig, 1813, ended Napoleons run for world dominance.
-Waterloo, 1815, began 4 decades of European peace.
-Antietam, 1862, bloodiest single day’s battle, ended rebel hope for foreign aid.
-Gettysburg, 1862, you already know about, i was there one july 4th year, pretty inspirational looking down off of Cemetery Ridge.
-Marne, 1914, French stopped Germans in WW I.
-Verdun, 1916, massive loss of life on both sides, ended French power and weakened them politically for years to come.
-Marne, 1918, final German offensive, last turning point of the war leading to allied victory.
-Moscow, 1941, dooms Nazis attempt to conquor mother russia.
-Normandy, Stalingrad, Midway, Battle of Britain deserve honorable mention, as does the Chosin Reservoir, Tet Offensive, 6-Day War and shock and awe of Iraqi Freedom…but that’s just me.
