The Truth About Paradise Valley Real Estate
Who among us does not want to live our lives in paradise? The town of Paradise Valley, Arizona that is! (Not be confused with the village of Paradise Valley in Phoenix, Arizona) This town should not be overlooked because of its relatively small size. It is currently home to over twelve large resorts making it quite the site for tourists as well as residents. It has a population well over 14,000 strong. Before you pack your bags, understand that Paradise Valley homes for sale can be a bit pricey; a median price for a house is normally $1.7 million with some homes in the area selling for well over $20 million dollars. There are homes and Paradise Valley real estate in the area to fit most budgets, however. What is making the area so popular?
This affluent little town in Maricopa County has had quite a list of well-known residents living in it. Boxers Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson have called it home, as have the likes of rock stars like Alice Cooper and Stevie Nicks. Other well known residents include Leslie Nielsen, Dan Quayle, and even the Campbell’s Soup heir Bennett Dorrance. Is it the beautiful weather, or the gorgeous desert views that attracts people to this town?
Some say it is the proximity to Mummy Mountain, which got its name due to the fact it is said to look like the side view of an Egyptian mummy. It was renamed by the affluent businessman Charles Mieg. The views of the wildflowers in spring are sure to convince anyone they have found their personal paradise. No wonder that Paradise Valley homes for sale are hard to come by!
Paradise Valley Country Club is a big draw to the area and it is somewhat elitist. In order to gain admission, you have to be recommended by two current members who have both known you for at least two years each. Camping, hiking and golfing are other area attractions, and there are also many nearby museums in the county. The Arizona Military Museum, the Heard Museum, and the Pioneer Arizona Living History Museum are all within Maricopa County. Shopping and dining in the area are not to be missed!
