Kentucky Flintlock Pistol
my husband wants a real firing flint lock?
My husband and I are heavily into historical reenactmenrt. We have the fake non firing flintlocks as props for our pirate adventures but he wants something that actuallys fires a bullet. I have no idea how to get ahold of one of these. I have checked dozens of websites already.
We’ve seen the percussion firearms and the kentucky pistol. He wants something acurate to the time period(1700s) and prefers a replica over an antique. I know that because of gun laws we’ll probably have to go through a licensed dealer and purchase it that same way you would a modern pistol. I’m just wondering where to start.
most of what Dixie gun works is too late period. We are looking for a pirate pistol, not civil war era

The cheapest muskets are sold by Middlesex Arms. They can send them anywhere in the country, since Federal Law does not restrict them….local and state laws may. That is for you to deal with. Middlesex arms is online. Their guns are ready to fire, and they have a good service reputation.
The British long land musket should be right for you (early Brown Bess), and they also carry some pistols.
Be aware that some places allow you carry the unloaded muzzleloader, but if you carry powder, you are breaking the law….like NY state.
